I just checked out some Persian rugs for sale the other day and I am torn between the Baluch and the Shiraz rugs. Both are just lovely! I wish I could buy one Baluch rug and one Shiraz. The thing is, other than the fact that I would not be able to buy these authentic Persian rugs, my apartment is way too small to accomodate two.
The Baluch rugs are handwoven by the members of a nomadic tribe in the southern part of Iran and date backs to more than 2,500 rugs. They normally come with burgundy with some navy and ivory colors.
The Shiraz rugs, on the other hand, are also handwoven, but they come from Central Iran. They generally have geometric motifs, small animals or plants for designs. They are pretty simple when it comes to colors. The most commonly used colors for Shiraz rugs is red.
I am so torn!

Glass shelves are stupid. Firstly, they cost so much more than any other type of shelf it is ridiculous. That right there should turn you off from ever buying one of those ugly things, but if it is not enough to dissuade you let me tell you more. They are advertised as having the same strength as other shelves. However that is definitely not the case! For example, can you drop a glass shelf on the ground? Can you stomp on it repeatedly without it breaking? I certainly don’t think so! The other thing is, how will you exactly know how much weight you can put on the thing? Do you want to risk putting on too much weight and having the thing shatter all over your living room? Basically getting glass shelves is a really stupid idea, one that I hope you will think long and hard about before laying down hard earned cash.
